For those living in Toronto, on May 21 Magic Pony will be hosting a trading party over at their store. The theme of the party is INTO THE WILD where traders are encouraged to bring any toys from the following series: Monsterism, Cannibal Funfair, BambooZoo, Teddy Troops, Labbits, Dunnys, and anything else that growls, prowls, swims or flies. Our good friend Ciah-ciah from Poland, sick who has also been featured here on the blog sent us an e-mail a few days ago calling for artists looking for a neat project to work on appropriately titled PYRA:MI[N]DS.

Originally the deadline for this project was March 1, clinic 2009, but luckily it’s been extended until March 31, 2009, so get cracking while you can!

PYRA:MI[N]DS Series 2 Description:

SERIES 02 is going to be a new step for the PYRA:MI[N]DS project. The toy is still a pyramid made of two parts but that’s pretty much all that connects it with previous one. Hope you will like the new design and turn it once again into a bunch of great and creative pieces.

On January 22, Magic Pony will be hosting the toy launch for Kidrobot’s Ye Old English Dunny Series. Of course, there will be many launch parties happenning all around the world on this day, although it’s one of the many happening within North America. Along with the toy launch, there will be a trading party as well where participants can trade Dunnies with one another or other toys they wish to trade. Magic Pony will also be awarding limited edition prizes from TADO, Jon Burgerman and many more to those who dress up as their favourite Brit. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

Artists in the series include Clutter, Doktor A, Frames, HiCalorie x Julie West, ilovedust, Jon Burgerman, Keanan Duffty, McFaul, Mimic, Peskimo, Shok 1, Tado, Triclops and UAMOU.

LIFT Designer Toys will be presenting it’s MADL Citizens event which will feature over 40+ customized 10″ DIY tall DIY MAD*L figure. Brian Colin’s presents his solo show at two locations, at the Elliot Street Deli & Pub (August 22), but also at the Doogallery (August 23) on two seperate dates consecutively. From this show you can expect to the see the works of Brian Colin’s which include art pieces and custom Munnies. The show at the Doogallery requires that all attendees be 21+, but also contributions of $10 donation which will include free beer and music.
